The funny thing about today is the date.

Today my friend Allison turns 31 and boards a flight to take the kids to Disneyland.

Today my friend Kathleen turns 33 and is half-way to Vegas, hopefully in first class and a couple of martinis in.

Today my friend Autumn turns 30 and is settling into Texas living.

Today my little sister Celia turns 26 and is coming over to celebrate our birthday with Indian food. Because today I turn 32.

Celia is tan and I'm white. She is petite, I have man-shoulders. I'm six inches taller, and it's 100% femur. Sometimes she calls me Femur. There's no mistaking us for twins, we're just sisters that share a birthday.

Because I envy her youth, I'm going to post an embarrassing photo of my little sister. I have a good idea of what she's doing off the back of that boat..

Odds are if you're a girl and you were born today, I like you. (Or tomorrow, Kristy P, happy birthday!)

  6. Happy Birthday, Rachel!
I'm sitting here at 2:45 AM counting these increasingly painful contractions that are coming every 3-4 minutes. I wonder if my baby is going to have the same birthday as you? That would be cool. ;)

Boat peeing is always fun. Much easier for guys, but fun nonetheless.

  17. Happy Birthday!

But really, I had to comment on the 100% femur remark - I hear ya - my legs are twice (that's 2x) as long as my torso, I can wear pants of a 6'3" guy, and I look like a giant around most of my friends! Loved your description! :)

    Anyway, good luck at Kona!

  19. It turns out that you and I share the same birthday, too, although I was probably born around the same time as your mother. Anyway, it was nice to know that we at least had one thing in common. Happy birthday! Mine was yesterday, as I live in Asia.

  20. Happy Birthday Rachel! Sarah pointed me your way and I'm happy to discover your corner of the blogosphere.

I don't have a sister but it sure looks like you two have a great relationship....assuming she's still speaking to you after this post :-)
